My Final Blog

In my last blog I had mentioned that I would not be presenting my project the way I would prefer to through a video. I searched different websites and applications to create a story book but I could not find one fitting for my idea. So, to bring some life to my journal entries that I created using Google Docs, I added some doodles I drew that you might see in someone’s real journal. I know I doodle a lot in my notes.

Anyhow, I am very pleased with my final product. I believe that the stories I share represent not only my thoughts throughout this pandemic but most likely other Americans as well. This is a very exhausting and trying time. Essential workers are stepping up and working harder than ever, parents, siblings, and guardians have taken on the role of teaching. Though many individuals are trying to do the right thing by social distancing, there are still those who pay no mind to the new rules.

This pandemic has proved that we lack unity and order as a country. The structure we lack stems directly from our President and his team who are failing to comfort citizens and meet the needs of thousands. I am sure I am not the only one who is struggling financially. I cannot be the only one who sees the disorganization of our country. This is a time when we should be working together to protect our country.

What it means to be American is blurry. There are too many different views to say being American means to be a certain way. However, I can say that Americans have taken advantage of their freedom and rights during this pandemic by going out and jeopardizing the health of others. People continue to push for businesses and states to reopen without thinking of the repercussions. As a country we were naive to believe we would go unaffected. Instead of continuing to ignore what scientists are telling us, we need to listen and take this pandemic seriously. Together, as Americans, we can overcome this pandemic, but we all have to be on the same page and unite.
