Deciding which artist that I would study for our Ethnic American Artist project was very difficult for me. I only had two people in mind, but I was torn between the two. When the project was assigned I immediately thought, Michael Jackson, but then my nosey wife suggested I focus on Tiffany Haddish, an actress that we absolutely love! Feeling extremely conflicted, for seven days I thought carefully about who I would choose. I chose Michael Jackson.
This was a difficult decision for me to make and I hope I made the right one. Had I chosen to write about Tiffany Haddish I would have talked about her mind blowing come up from being homeless to a well known comedian who has landed many roles in films and has her own tv show. Honestly, Tiffany Haddish is an inspiration and her story of making it in America is quite impressive. However, Michael Jackson holds a special place in my heart, and has inspired me since I was a child. Though he was flawed like every individual, he contributed so much to the Ethnic American community through his music and activism. I hope that through my project I can pay tribute to someone that I consider to be a legend.
